Perfect Roast Turkey [0001072] Ingredients: 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds), giblets removed 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (or dairy-free alternative) Salt and black pepper to taste 1 lemon, cut into quarters 1 onion, quartered 4-6 fresh thyme sprigs (or your preferred herbs) 4-6 fresh rosemary sprigs (or your preferred herbs) 4-6 fresh sage leaves (or your preferred herbs) 4-6 fresh parsley sprigs (or your preferred herbs) Instructions: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Place the oven rack in the lowest position. Rinse the turkey inside and out under cold running water. Pat it dry with paper towels. Season the inside of the turkey cavity with salt and black pepper. Stuff it with the lemon quarters, onion quarters, and fresh herbs. Truss the turkey's legs together with kitchen twine to help it cook evenly. Place the turkey in a roasting pan with a rack, breast side up. Brush the melted unsalted butter (or dairy-free alternative) all over the turkey's skin. Season the skin with salt and black pepper. Tent the turkey loosely with aluminum foil, leaving space between the turkey and the foil. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for about 3.5 to 4 hours (or as per the weight of your turkey), basting every 30 minutes with the pan juices. Remove the foil tent during the last 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to brown. The turkey is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes before carving. Carve and serve your Gluten-Free Perfect Roast Turkey as the centerpiece of your holiday feast!
